So, what's next
TIMTTMY tour happening, lovely, all songs played amazingly, well done lads.
I may have lost this in the last year or two of news but is there anything like an album to look forward to, and if so, when? |
New album in the new year guaranteed.
And I REALLY REALLY hope it's a just a collection of 10 great songs. No manifestos or any spin. Then play some gigs in theatres. Also, from going to the TIMT gigs, it's clear that the Manics fanbase is really fucking old. And just everyday Manics fans. So play more rarities and songs Manics fans like. We don't need EMG or YSTS or YLAINE ever again. |

(A small part of me would also pay good money to be at the show that ended with an extended live version of Engage With Your Shadow) |

We claim we want the major rarities but look what happens when they give us what we want. Horses under starlight went down like a lead balloon and now I’m not working seems to be a call to arms for people who need to have a fight to entertain themselves during a song they can’t mosh to. I agree with the comment saying let’s just have a new album of great songs without the spin. |
They played Design first in Brighton a few years ago and then never went back :) James forgot at the end and almost introduced it again.
If they put it in the middle the tossers that are only there for that song and cause trouble can fuck off early |

I've always wanted them to do a no-singles show/tour. Will never happen but a man can dream.

Not a veteran Manics fan by any means, but consider myself a big fan, been seeing them live for 18 years and would still like to hear YLAINE ❤️ |

I'd just be happy if they played 9-10 songs off the album they were promoting. In the last five years we've seen three 20 year old albums get more coverage than the three new ones they released.
I was listening to an interview with James from last year where he states that the newer material (particular Futurology and RTF) just doesn't sit well on a setlist with the cornerstone classics. They never fucking will if you don't play them. I would have happily gone to a gig on the RiF tour if they hadn't played only four the weaker stuff off the album + 17 tracks they play at every gig. |
BE PURE. BE VIGILANT. BEHAVE release but very wishful thinking.
|
My hopes - get a creative, sharp producer in to push them out of their 'mastered for radio 2' comfort zone and tour the f##k out of it in an interesting non-carfest sortaway and not abandon it after six weeks for yet another anniversary tour*.
(* I'll still happily take a non-touring GATS deluxe though please barman). |
Something of the quality of Futurology and perhaps touring it with some kind of difference (unusual venues? More effort in support bands or maybe some co-headline deal with someone awesome?) - as people have mentioned, playing a lot more of the songs live, at least.
