Didn't catch all of the show. Be very very surprised if Manics played, but Kasabian on Kerrang! TV picking videos from other bands as well as playing their own videos.
But got me thinking, why don't they let the Manics host those shows?
Thinking about it, last time they ever hosted anything like that was 2007 wasn't it?
NME TV would have if still running.
Or have they never hosted such a show (Nicky had Zane Lowe interview in 2003 but I don't think the video choices were his own) in the first place?
Either way, I think a live (or day earlier recorded) TV broadcast should be the way to come back with next album.
It won't. Album not in any shape to be removed probably. But still got a point.
Why don't Music TV channels acknowledge the Manics these days?

They hosted Rage (here in Australia) back in 2013. Good fun.

Listening to Lipstick Traces CD1. It cuts deep when James screams 'I close my eeeeeeeeeeeeyeees!' *goosebumps*

Not sure if this is the best space to mention it, but Nick's dad passed away recently. When it rains, it pours....

Yeah it must be really hard for him. Nicky was still able to play a few shows recently which fair play, I really wasn't expecting him to do that so soon. Obviously doesn't seem to be doing the interview and promotion parts of Festival appearances. But yeah, it's a massive blow for them.

Sad news...

Until this moment, I didn't know an acoustic version of Umbrella existed. Wow! Bradders sounds great on that!!!

If you go to the restaurant at the tourist centre of the Hoover Dam you can order a Dam Dog.

Not a Manics thought as such but made me smile.

Just putting together my article following a recent chat with James (will be published in print and online Sept. 20).

Thought I'd share a quote that made me laugh as I'm transcribing the interview.

James describes a new guitar he bought. He wondered for ages where he knew it from. A Shergold. I interject and point out Bernard Sumner used to play them: “Yeah, exactly. It took me FUCKING TWO MONTHS to figure out it was Bernard Sumner that used to play it and I purposely didn't go on the internet and find it ... I'm not going to fucking Google it, and I was asleep one night and I was like 'FUCKING BERNARD SUMNER! FUCK, THAT'S WHERE IT WAS!'”

Will post the full article in due course! :-)
Stay Beautiful!

Is THB 25 years old today or tomorrow? I'm seeing conflicting reports! I was in Australia when it came out so I had to wait til I found an import copy that October.

WhatsAManic 29-08-2019 07:21

Today! Good call, I'll make a thread.

Thanks WhatsAManic! I guess the confusion is stemming from the fact that today would have been Bank Holiday Monday in 1994. I don't know what shop opening hours were like on bank holidays back then, but maybe most shops wouldn't have been open to sell it until the 30th? Wikipedia lists it as being released on the 30th.

And yet for the past few days I've had huge cravings for Rewind The Film over The Holy Bible.

It was the 30th as, as you said, 29th was a bank holiday. Same with Definitely Maybe, but cause everyone believes whatever wikipedia tells them and no-ones likes facts anymore...

Why did they list Revol and She Is Suffering as singles, when the album came out before they did? (I think)
