Best of the later Manics album
My top latter day Manics tracks from KYE to present day era. Think I got something off every album.
Found that soul Freedom of speech A song for departure Love of Richard Nixon Send away the tigers Peeled apples Jackie Collins Marlon JD Some kind of nothingness This sullen welsh heart 30 year war The next jet to leave Moscow Hold me like a heaven |
So Why So Sad
Intravenous Agnostic There By The Grace Of God Empty Souls A Song For Departure Leviathan (Yeah we all want one- sorry, back to list!) Your Love Alone Is Not Enough Imperial Bodybags Journal For Plague Lovers Golden Platitudes 30 Year War Walk Me To The Bridge International Blue Would have included much more, was going to do single, album track and b-side but that took me over the 13 song limit. |
Honorable mentions: autumn song, this joke sport severed, journal for plague lovers, Golden platitudes (almost a classic, think maybe the production ruins it), Divine Youth, International Blue, Distant Colours, Song for the sadness.

Oh yeah Leviathan, good call. Also, Locust Valley from same era? Awesome guitar solo on that. Also, I used to love intravenous agnostic!

By 'later' albums, you mean an era spanning two thirds of their entire career?

Golden Platitudes
Auto-Intoxication (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love Rewind The Film 30 Year War This Sullen Welsh Heart Let's Go To War Misguided Missile Walk Me To The Bridge Together Strong (C'mon Wales) International Blue Hold Me Like A Heaven People Give In There you go! 13! And I love the comedy of "I don't need THIS!" going straight into the Rugby thing. |
I'd split it:
Richey era: GT/GATS/THB Commercial rise and fall (aka Farrow design era): EMG/TIMT/KYE/L 'Re-energised' / revisiting older sounds: SATT/JFPL/PFAYM New territories: RTF/F/RIF |
Groundhog Days (most emo Manics song)
Solitude Sometimes Is (I listen to this one every day) The Second Great Depression (Perfection) Black Square Hold Me Like A Heaven If you tolerate this (2018 remastered version) Evidence Against Myself (I haven't listened to this song for ages but I make up for it this week). |
Evidence Against Myself you mentioned a great call! One if my most played Manics albums is the PFAYM b-sides; 15 in all I think. Some wonderful stuff there. Much prefer it to the actual album.

This thread saves me making a new one. I uploaded Manics onto PS3 and made a playlist of last three albums I am unable to share as I don't go online with it.
Check out some bitching combos of three that pop up. And think the song at the end should have ended RIF. Long list. If song you like isn't down here, sorry I didn't put it in. Happy scrolling! Rewind The Film Walk Me To The Bridge International Blue I Dream Of The Tokyo Skyline Dreaming A City (Hugheskova) Sequels of Forgotten Wars Builders Of Routines Sex, Power, Love And Money People Give In 3 Ways To See Despair Futurology Broken Algorithms 30 Year War Let's Go To War A Song For The Sadness Running Out Of Fantasy Europa Geht Durch Much In Eternity 4 Lonely Roads Between The Clock And The Bed Dylan And Caitlin Manoirber Misguided Missile Hold Me Like A Heaven Anthem For A Lost Cause Black Square Vivian As Holy As The Soil (That Buries Your Skin) Devine Youth The Left Behind This Sullen Welsh Heart Mayakovsky Shit actually typed out now one left what have I missed off?
