For some reason I cant stop listening to Be Natual at the moment, does anyone else think it sounds a bit Radiohead though? Like it could be off The Bends or OK Computer?

There's a touch of the Subterranean Homesick Alien about it, certainly.

It bothers me the band think TIMT would have been better without it.

I'm intrigued to learn what the missing appropriate adjective was! :D

Surely not 'better'?

Quite an underrated track IMHO.

tzb 05-11-2013 14:07

It was indeed 'better'.

I would also have accepted 'Gagaesque'.

Suicide Aldi 05-11-2013 14:11

Is that what the think? I really like it. I love the build up with the drums before the chorus.

I wasn't aware they'd said that. Or I was and I forgot. I think my brain is running out of space from all the Manics trivia that already exists there. Anyway, if they said that I agree with your botheredness*.

*may not be a real word. Botheredosity. Botheredicity. Bothereddom.

Going along to Norwich Arts Centre tonight as a mate of mine is reading some extracts from his book there....... wearing my Bomb the Past t - shirt for added CoR points.... :)

It seems my RTF enthusiasm has worn off. I've not listened to a single bit of the new material since early october. This is the first manics period that has genuinely left me feeling quite miserable. It's a combination of the fact RTF is a genuinely heartbreaking album full of fantastic songs but ones I can only listen to sparingly as I get moody.

I wouldn't agree on the miserable feeling, I still find it delightful to listen to, but I've drifted away from it as well. It's no longer on my ipod playlist on repeat, I've drifted back to my b-sides playlist again, at least it doesn't have the soporific effects of RTF.

Got back into RTF! It's the perfect album to wash your hair to.
Untangle it to TSWH, get into the bathroom and start washing to SMTW. Wash off the shampoo to RTF and add another layer of shampoo. Wash off the second layer to BOR/4LR. Add conditioner to that song as well. Lose yourself and think of other things and then remember where you are and wash it out during the Tokyo thing.
And back in the bedroom to dry for AHATS. All done, dry and combed by Manobier!

I really love Dying Breeds. There, I said it.

I think I'm almost trying too hard to like it but I just can't - I no longer dislike it, I'm more meh to it.

It's background music that I wouldnt turn off or over, but I also wouldn't listen to it by itself for pleasure. Basically it blocks out the voices in my head when writing or on pc etc

You realise in 10 years time, you'll be in an elevator in a really tall building, and the elevator version of Design will come over the speakers without the lyrics. All the manics fans choose to take the stairs....at least the one's with their original hips

Borderliner 15-11-2013 06:10

Manics should update Revol lyrics. In 1994 James was singing about Russian leaders from Lenin to Yeltsin. They can add a line or two about Putin and Medvedev.
