Manics To Record Film Soundtrack?
In a recent German interview James suggests that the Manics have been asked to record a soundtrack for a film that's filming next year, which wouldn't be toured then they'd take a break - Discuss

I'd love an album full of instrumentals. It'd be the most different of all the stuff they've done. But I think they'd just about succeed at it.
Thanks for the link! |
i am not convinced as to how James stumbling onto an amateur sex film over on youjizz where PFAYM happens to be playing in the background translates as "the Manic Street Preachers are doing a film soundtrack", but yeah, great all the same.

I've always wanted them to do some film soundtrack work, I really hope they end up doing lots.
|
I'd put money on Keiran Evans having asked them to score his next film.
/end fanwank-speculation. |
Great. An album full of instrumentals....
|
The Manics' music has always sounded soundtrackish to me, honestly.
|
I'm intrigued.
I wonder if it's going to be screened in the US, whatever it is. |
It would be great if they make some soundtracks for movie that doesn't exist - like James' beloved "Themes For Grind" by Will Sergeant from EATB.
|
It worked for Daft Punk and BSP, it can work for them.
|
Really want them to do this, keeps them out of their comfort zone! Feels like they're really going for it nowadays and taking on new things. Unlike a few years ago when all they wanted was 'mass communication'.
Should definitely do that WWE track whilst they're at it. |
About time they did something like this.
|
|
what makes everyone think it would be instrumental - lots of soundtracks still have vocals on most/some tracks
