Every single time I hear the "tie your hair in bunches" part of Autumnsong, I flash back to Yes. It's such an absurd contrast that I snort inappropriately every time I hear it. I can't be the only one to have that association, right?

I hadn't actually given any thought about the similarities of the two lines. Thanks for pointing that out! :p

Keep seeing a couple of threads about Manics on Ruth Jones. I'm not sure who Ruth Jones is but for some reason every time I see those threads I have a couple of seconds outrage, thinking that Ruth Jones is Liz Jones.

I love a lot of bands but their songs are the ones which have actually helped me in so many stages of my life...they gave me the power to carry on when i was into difficult moments. even if a song is full of rage or sadness,it's always like it's telling me "you're not alone,we feel like you etc."
I think that's what make them so special!

Lifeblood = Nicky's best lyrics, best bass playing, James's best vocal and some classic guitar work

Why is it regarded as their worst?

Just because the public at large were all in thrall to Coldplay at the time and Lifeblood charted at 7. So the band think it was a failure. Which is rubbish cos Lifeblood is worth a zillion copies of X & Y!

hummingbird 30-12-2011 16:39

7? I thought it charted at unlucky 13
