The crowd last night were not as bad as we expected. We were apprehensive as these types of local festivals tend to be excuses for all day drinking binges, so we were quite relived that was not the case.
For a greatest hits set, there were some unexpected treats. Theme from MASH sounded lovely. JDB dedicated Ocean Spray to those who had lost someone recently and for the first time at a Manics gig I cried (my beloved mam died at in early June and the hurt is something I can't put into words). Tolerate was stunning and ominous.
It was also Manics under Starlight, as the night sky had a beautiful display of stars and a full moon.
So that was it for this year, hopefully late next year they might be back with something new and shiny.
