Misheard Manics Lyrics part 2

Okay, the search results didn't show me this thread, and since the possibility is that it might have been deleted, I found it kinda pointless to search for it manually, although I did sip in through a few forum pages....
Anyway....

Time for a new Misheard Manics Lyrics one.
And this time I'm bringing you....

from The Next Jet to Leave Moscow:

An old jedi comming walking in Red Square

Aestivate 20-11-2014 06:57

We've all killed some ants
All had broken plants

BeautyBeyondLust 20-11-2014 19:14

Cheers for starting a new thread :) I was sad when I realised the older one had gone.

Mr Richey 21-11-2014 00:09

New thread, so I guess it's time for me to repost my misheard lyrics for the chorus of "Mausoleum" :D

Write down your self-tan charter
Write down your cellphone sealant
Life's got six sides, the muscles,
Animals, the spies and screwed-on eyes
Never knowing why you hoped for a safer woman
Life has asylum for the victims who have no Spectrum
The ship of skellywobbles obliterates your name
Obliterates your name
Obliterates your name
Obliterates you meanie
You meanie
You meanie

gallafield 21-11-2014 10:53

Mr Richey, that is awesome. Especially 'the ship of skellywobbles'. Brilliant.

I love James' Welsh pronunciation there.

An emblem sighs, towers made in sour eyes
Rockheel thoughts run through your undenied

Lament blossoms, hours minutes of our lives
Broken thoughts run through your empty mind

Looks like James is a fan of Star Wars. ;)

Ha until today that's what I thought it was!

From Let Robeson Sing:
No passport 'til 1958, a coffee pause and through with hate.

Actual lyrics: McCarthy poisoned through with hate.

Huh? I read somewhere the actual lyrics are "my coffee poison through with hate" or something like that....

I don't know for sure, I got it off one of those random lyric sites, but I think McCarthy makes sense, given the context.

Also, in Born a Girl: "Will you accuse me of Tsar hide?"
Actually: "Will you accuse me as I hide?"

That could have been an actual Manics lyric! Also from Tsunami:

Ice fatigue melting over me.

kristal17 13-12-2014 00:20

There's a bit in 'Facing Page: Top Left' where I was utterly convinced JDB was singing 'Fragrance my ass'

From Some Kind of Nothingness:

Crustini has been missing you.

Original: Crushed any happiness you knew

TheCasual 19-12-2014 15:19

In Faster I first heard it as 'A song about mountains', but It's 'I am stronger then Mensa'.

gracie 20-12-2014 12:14

I heard "I stare at the sky" in This is Yesterday as "I stare at bus stops"...

I think it's the accent.

I like your misheard line, though. Makes me wanna write a song about taking the city bus to a place I've never been before.

Me too.

Actually I could imagine Nicky writing a song based on that.

gracie 22-12-2014 13:18

Ooops. Just realized I got the original lyric wrong ;(

Don't worry, you were close enough. :X

Of late, I keep hearing the end of 'Motown Junk', "we live in urban hell" as 'we living up in herre'. This would suggest, erroneously however, that boys pre-dated DMX's 1999 hit 'Party Up' by some 8 years.

I often hear it like that as well...

gracie 13-03-2015 18:21

I thought that too!!!!

kristal17 14-03-2015 23:31

Oh thank Christ, it wasn't just me.
