I think I can hear them now....'Why don't you just..........stay beautiful!?!' Yep that. Inter networking technology not being their thing I mean....and no offence (I'm coping with wine this evening...can I offer you one?)

Nicky's probably vacuuming 24/7 at the minute ....in a place of quarantine...where solitude sometimes is...in need of cigarettes and alcohol...(artistic license)

Sean was very active on twitter for a while... I'd love to hear his opinions on something more unusual like Know Your Enemy.

Been listening to a few of the Heavenly songs recently (started after hearing Lust for Life on the radio!). It was quite a departure from the 'home made' style along with samples to the more polished rock sound of Generation Terrorists.

I have a keyboard that, when I press ctrl+v multiple times, it sounds like Solitude Sometimes Is.

Watch it mute because it's neither a Manics or a great musical backing. Just hold music, but a weird chart showing live played Manics songs from inception to 2919.

Somebody has data mined setlist.fm - the only problem being that many of the early set lists are lost to history.

Interesting to see how some songs dropped completely out of fashion after being strong live favourites - Repeat and Australia, I'm looking at you. I think I was most surprised to see how high Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head was for a while.

It... Took a lot longer for me to work out it was setlists and not radio play!!
I was watching going "Bullshit radio played Motown Junk! And 2001? Where's 'So Why So Sad'?".
And then I...scrolled down.
Disgusted to have seen to not only promote data mining (reject all and continue) and also incorrect information!

Wire should do one of Tim Burgess' Twitter Listening parties. The Suede one was amazing.

They've had a great run lately... Different Class, Dog Man Star, Up the Bracket then 1977 on successive evenings.

I hate to say, but the Manics are the biggest UK band of the 90s not to have signed up to do one yet. Do they get on with Tim Burgess - they must have crossed paths with the Charlatans over the year.

A quick google brings these two pages up as the first two hits:

(1992) On middling indie bands: “Rick Astley, Tom Jones and Cliff Richard are all better pop than the fucking Charlatans. Bands shouldn’t be held up as important if they haven’t sold any records.” (Nicky Wire, 1992) Pic: PA Photos

(1999) The Charlatans also joined the current trend of slagging off Nicky Wire and co, dubbing them the ‘Manic Street Plumbers‘.

Bassist Martin Blunt said: “They’ve become less adventurous musically and it’s a bit like the Manic Street Plumbers, the lyrics are great but underneath it’s Bryan Adams.”

I miss the 90s!

Not listened to Jacques Brel's Voir Un Ami Pleurer before today but it's such a rich song. JDB captured it very well in his version on The Great Western.

BREAKING NEWS: Getting reports that my This Is My Truth box set has slipped behind my wardrobe and is unretrievable at this current moment. We believe the box set was atop a stack of books at the corner of a crowded desk and slipped behind the cupboard during an attempt to tell a story using book titles on Facebook.
Questions will no doubt be asked "Well what the hell was it doing there in the first place?", But right now all attention is on the retrieval of the box set.
It is not known if the CDs are still intact. In fact we can go over live-

Interviewer: So you've tried pulling the wardrobe forward?
Me: Ah, it's that dead heavy light browny oak thing. Tried to. But no.
Interviewer: What attempts have been made already to retrieve the item?
Me: Well I saw it, it was wedged, I tried knocking it down to the left so I could get a grip on it but no.
Interviewer: And what implement did you use to knock the box set?
Me: Ah, well, it's this book of tablature of a Jimi Hendrix box set.
Interviewer: Can you play any of it?
Me: No, what happened was about last year I thought of just playing what I could on the bass, but the book slipped from my hands, landed on my bass and broke a string.
Interviewer: Doesn't your interference with the back of the wardrobe contravene many of the peace agreements you made with the Spiders?
Me: Well these are unprecedented times and actually the S word is racist to arachnids as they prefer Supreme Rulers. In turn a full report will be published.
Interviewer: You haven't got a fucking clue, have you?
Me: No! Will try a coat hanger.

Updates will follow but that's all the developments so far. Keep watching on FD for further development. No really, have FD on all the time and refresh it over and over again for that one moment when you can be the first to know the box set was rescued and intact.

EDIT:
BREAKING! DAS BREAK! OOH NEWS! EEK SPEAK!
Go over live etc

Me: Well used a coat hanger and managed to push it down so I could reach the bottom left of the box. Pulled and gained a little bit more but it seemed to be stuck. A second coat hanger blind hook attempt seemed to push the box further away than before. Impossible this time to grip the box, only touch.
Seriously resigned myself to it being a long time before I got the box again.
Then I noticed a white cable at the wall, and following it I could see the box! No idea how deep or flimsy the cable had tangled the box, but if pull back cable slowly, yes, there's an edge, now, bit steady, bit more, there's the top! The cable is stuck between glossy paper and cardboard disc section! Carefully reach... RETRIEVED!!
I counted the discs in the box untouched for a bit while my ears sort themselves out and I counted them back in again.

I even took time from making this post to shout "Apologies. Lessons will be learned" as close to behind the wardrobe as I could.
Leaving no unanswered questions that need answering.

The most amazing thing I've discovered today is Sophie Ellis Bextor's kitchen disco.

Do you think if we bombard her with requests she'll do Black Holes for the Young?
