James makes an appearance in the Pseuds Corner section of the latest Private Eye for a quote he gave to the NME on the Sex Pistols. Pseuds Corner highlights "pretentious, pseudo-intellectual quotations from the media" (according to Wikipedia).

It made me chuckle on the train this morning. At least he's not in it for tax evasion!

They've definitely been in Pseuds Corner before. In fact I'm sure the lyrics to Intravenous Agnostic appeared there at the time.

Ultimate Guitar website interview JDB:

The interview questions seem odd, like when you type to one of those online instant messaging characters who just start rephrasing stuff back at you. But it's quite in-depth and has some interesting stuff. Apparently people like Lifeblood just to piss him off!

Or to make him see sense! Love the fact that he says people in the US seem to enjoy Lifeblood, maybe he owes them a few tracks off it on tour now?

No mention of PFAYM either, I wonder why....

Lord Revan 27-03-2015 21:30

After reading this I'm thinking their distaste of Lifeblood has a lot to do with having a bad time recording it... Easily in my top 3 with Truth and THB.

Bambi 27-03-2015 21:43

Wow I gave up on that interview a long way before Lifeblood, as we inched chronologically, glacially through the 90's.

'Edwards disappeared in what has now been regarded as a suicide due to severe drug addiction' was probably the 'I think we're done here' moment.

Marconi Delorian 28-03-2015 00:45

It's best just to completely ignore the interjections and read James' statements, as I said, they seem like a bot replying anyway.

There's a fairly lengthy interview with James in the current Hot Press. Not a lot of interest, although I was surprised to hear the band only really got into playing festivals about ten years ago...

This lengthy interview with Andy Cairns from Therapy? has a few paragraphs on his friendship with James, as well as his assertion that the Manics are louder on stage than Sepultura (Cairns has guested with both, only a few months ago with the Manics) http://thequietus.com/articles/17592...irns-interview

That's a lovely read.
