Everything Must Go Survivor

After the enormous success (and fierce in-fighting) of the Holy Bible survivor I feared the others just wouldn't be as good or as fiercely contested. Try and prove me wrong.

It's time for EVERYTHING MUST GO!
Their fourth album, written in the immediate aftermath of Richey's dissappearance, their biggest hit and a regular G.O.A.T.

There's so many great songs on it and I just can't pick the best or the worst.

This survivor has now ended. Thanks to everyone who voted.

Changing strategy this time. Rather than voting for the same song over and over I'll be moving around in my choices.

I nearly voted for Design For Life because, although I do love it, it's been overplayed down the years.

Any of the covers in the b-side section for me. Not interested in them at all.

Also: great signature and thanks for another interesting and fun poll thread.

WhatsAManic 30-01-2018 22:17

When I opened the survivor earlier, I didn't expect to see it have 62 votes.
I also didn't expect to see A Design for Life as the least popular track, 19 votes to Further Away's 13.

Welp, what more can I say? ADFL, the band's most beloved song, is now a contender for the Worst Manics Song Ever.

On the Holy Bible survivor we recreated the horrors of the 2017 UK election. If this is anything to go by, we're re-creating the horrors of the 2016 US presidential election - complete with potential foreign meddling...

As a result of this I have introduced a new rule: vote honestly. This will not be tolerated, and if it is, in true Manics fashion, your children will be next.

Also just a quick check, you are voting for your least favourite, aren't you?

Oh, and the B-sides is a shocker too: Mr Carbohydrate!

Anyway, here's the album: http://www.strawpoll.me/14966760
And here's the B-sides: http://www.strawpoll.me/14966777

Don't look at me! Yesterday I voted for the title track and Can't Take My Eyes Off You!
Didn't vote for them this time however.
Maybe they wanted ADFL out of the way first to protect it? Or maybe the scars of the Generation Terrorists poll haven't healed?
It's only a game! Even the worst of the Manics is light years in quality above the current Top Ten!

Haha, whats going on with the b sides?? Cant believe sepia jas more votes than anything else at thr moment.

Well the other day when I checked Further Away was leading until ADFL got the chop out of nowhere so you never know!

Do we even have 62 active members on this forum? It would be interesting to tally the number of unique log ins in the 24 hour period with the number of votes cast ;)

And today No Surface All Feeling is in the lead, which I would have put down as one of the favourites to win.

Has this poll been circulated to a group that is voting for their favourite rather than least favourite? Just a thought...

Automatik 31-01-2018 16:47

I didn't vote for Design For Life, despite mentioning it, so don't look at me.

Voting out Mr Carbohydrate* - and Sepia teetering on the edge - shows what utter inveterate philistines you all are.

Maybe the band should just bang out endless cover versions, since they're obviously sooooo popular. Karaoke is what you all want!

*Best song about crisps ever

It's a thought... I was going to make a comment about votes only being rigged if you don't like the result, but so many more people seem to be voting this time, it does seem a little odd.

No Surface All Feeling is definitely my favourite. Or Small Black Flowers. Maybe The Girl Who Wanted To Be God....

Son of Stopped 31-01-2018 18:00

Forget the Brexit, Trump election and the last UK one, this is that Newsnight episode where they discuss the reunification of West and East Germany while fireworks went off.
I hope these polls keep coming however. I haven't mentioned these polls to anybody and have been taking part in good faith.
We just have to laugh and roll with the punches!

Europa Gluten Free 31-01-2018 19:00

I'm sure it's quite possible to vote again and again if you know how to use a VPN.

Europa Gluten Free 31-01-2018 19:01

I haven't even voted once on the EMG one. I am still exhausted from the THB week. Can't believe 4st 7lbs was voted off so early.
