A Manics gig lives or dies on how wellJames performs. While I'm not against a third guitarist taking the load off James, something in my core churns when I see James standing there with his guitar slumped to this side. I remember the JFPL tour where Nicky's back turned him into either into a miserable wreck or a drugged up looney. It was James who stepped his game up ten fold and gave a masterclass of what a front man should be. There's more energy in those spins than in the centre of the brightest star.
