Despite it being slower and less post-punk than The Holy Bible, I think it's just as intense and quite a heavy listen.
Although it sounds fantastic, it's hard for me to connect to any of the songs too much. They are like artistic pieces that you pull out and admire but then put away again.
I haven't listened to any of the songs in a good while. And I was obsessed with this album when it came out. Must have listened to it daily for months. Travelled far for the JFPL gig too.
But I just find it difficult now to emotionally connect to it. Even more so than The Holy Bible, which I do still listen to now and again.
