Sambora is a great guitarist. Very underrated and it's a shame he's associated with a band who base their songs around the various ways you can get 'dry, why, try, lie and die' to rhyme'.
Understand why some of their stuff appeals though. They always produce terrific melodies and that would not be lost on James. The one time Jon Bon was challenged with writing a song about a story with some depth was when he wrote perhaps his best song, Blaze of Glory. If only he had something more to write about, because he certainly has the talent to do quality stuff, he just hasn't had much of a purpose besides getting girls to go to his gigs.
