On the note of that question of whether James had a favourite of Noel or Liam, one neat little bit of trivia to add there is that, apparently, he was quite friendly with Noel back in the 90s. Noel tells the story that he sat with James on the train on the way from Wales to London just after Morning Glory had been mastered. James listened to Noel's new album, being possibly the first outside the Oasis camp to do so, and told him he really liked it, describing it as "earthy".
So, that's nice.
