The next jet to leave Moscow

I'll go out on a limb and say this May be a lot of people's favourite on Futurology.

What do people think?

Too short?

Remarkably catchy, breezey?

It is definately a great little song but I think it could have been at least a minute longer.

I didn't want it to end! So yep a little too short.
But it was the track that grabbed me the most

I've only listened through once but it's certainly the one that made me sit up and listen the most.

So short and leaves you wanting more but this and Black Square are without doubt the best two songs on the album. James lyric as well, so I'm obviously going to love it naturally

Disregarding lyrical considerations and unique "Manicsness" (for which the likes of Yes, a Faster and Design for Life will never likely be topped) for me, musically, it could be their sweetest, best song ever.

That chord structure and the way the vocal melody just wraps around it, is simply sublime. That last change in the verse could very well be the most beautiful little chord change I've ever heard (: I wouldn't exactly "tap" that, as much as I would like to propose to it. It's not every day that a lad hears a chord progression both sweet and natural, and at the same time like something that hasn't been done a million times before. ("Original" chord structures usually just piss me off)

So yeah, it's pure musical bliss, like many other pieces of songwriting on Futurology (Dreaming A City! Oh my god!) Also, the lyrics are some of the best they've done since... I wanna say TIMTTMY or LB. High quality all the way through. Not as simply self-deprecating as one might judge at first sight, either. Being a massive Josif Stalin sized commie basterd myself, I can surely identify. A lot of nuance there.

I just love the feeling of this song, from the interesting rhythm to the muted unhappiness of the piano/guitar mix.

I fucking love this track. The opening, the lead into the first verse, etc is the best minute of music on the album and then you got that sublime chorus. The solo reminds me of another Manics track but can't pinpoint it?
