The Future Has Been Here 4ever
Please note that, according to the album sleeve, there is no space between the '4' and 'ever'.
And what's more, 'ever' should therefore start with a lower-case 'e'. *Message ends*

It's pretty naff, but I can't help but keep singing it in my head randomly. Mostly the trumpet part and Godfather 3 line

It's up there but I think he still has a way to go before topping 'the subject of this song, well I haven't really thought of one' etc

I agree but it's so stupid it's funny and always makes me laugh / smile to myself when I hear it.

I love the song, one of the few songs that has some lasting appeal and sincerity to it from the album.

i confess when it started playing i thought "this sounds pretty good". then the signing and that line came along, and i was a bit like that bit in Bad Lieutenant where Harvey Keitel shoots the stereo in his car.

The Godfather 3 reference may have also come about whilst watching telly. Maybe he was inspired by that "I like old movies / like The Godfather / Three" song from match.com! |

that's no classic, but the reference to Godfather 3 made me cringe. cringe, i tell you, like no song since the heyday of Stock, Aitken & Waterman has made me cringe. it's the first time ever i have felt embarrassed for someone having to sing shit, it's no wonder James was having nothing to do with the vocals for it.

I was just coming in to say I liked "The Godfather 3" film (and I watched it once... without seeing the other two...) but SeveredJoke has beaten me to the punch over

But I still like the song. And even the album. |

On a separate note the 'I like old movies' ad really annoys me. The Godfather 3 was released in 1990! That's not old! |

One of the best songs with long-term appeal on the album.

Godfather III is routinely accepted as a shameless cash-in. FFC only made it as he needed money, they fucked it up by refusing to pay Robert Duvall $500,000.00 to come back as Tom Hagen (Al Pacino got $5 million to mumble like he had throat cancer through it, George Hamilton cost less than half what they offered Duvall) and thus a disjointed mess that merrily masturbated over the two brilliant originals was delivered. why on earth would anyone wish to reference it?
