*Collapses in futility

Well played! And isn't that the same guitar James was pictured in a shop earlier this month/last month?
So happy that new instrument (manufactured late 2010's) looks to be involved in the progress
Excitement back! Never went away but yes!
New Manics stuff being explicitly revealed it's actually new Manics stuff!
Not putting any hopes on what it sounds like. This is good enough!
New Manics stuff on the way!!

So to put that through the Nicky filter, there are no new songs and if there were, there wouldn't be any guitar on them

Timespan guesswork!
Mastering in another studio in America probably through April. Not sure if that ingredient for CDs is still running out or been replenished? I want to say first single near end of May with a Summer release before their festival slots.
Events and unforseen stuff pops up! I don't know how the process works.
Expecting November to be at a gig and familiar with the new stuff.
This is leaving outside the rest of the world events of course. But what better F.U. to Putin than the Manics both touring and new album from them?
I'm not expecting any reversed R's. But then they don't need to do that now.
Any more pessimistic guesses on their calendar this year?

I asked ChatGPT

Quote:
Imagine a concept for a new Manic Street Preachers album, a blend of the albums Lifeblood and Journal for Plague Lovers but better. Give a track listing and describe each track, its lyrical themes and instrumentation
Quote:
The new Manic Street Preachers album is titled "Resilience in Fragility" and is a blend of the introspective and reflective qualities of "Lifeblood" with the raw energy and punk rock sensibility of "Journal for Plague Lovers". The album is an exploration of the human condition, the beauty and the pain of existence, and the struggle to find meaning in a world that can often feel chaotic and uncertain.

Track listing:

"Fragile Resilience" - The opening track sets the tone for the album with a haunting piano melody and James Dean Bradfield's soaring vocals. The lyrics explore the concept of resilience in the face of adversity, acknowledging the fragility of life while celebrating the human capacity to endure.
"Echoes of Yesterday" - A driving guitar riff propels this track forward as Nicky Wire's lyrics grapple with the weight of regret and the memories that haunt us long after they've passed.
"Bleeding Out the Lies" - A stripped-down punk rock anthem with an infectious chorus and lyrics that call out the hypocrisy and deceit of those in power.
"Invisible Scars" - A somber ballad with a minimalist instrumentation that showcases Bradfield's emotional range. The lyrics touch on the psychological wounds that can linger long after physical scars have healed.
"Rising From the Ashes" - An anthemic rock track with a soaring chorus that celebrates the human capacity for renewal and rebirth. The lyrics are a call to action, urging listeners to embrace change and seize the opportunities that come with it.
"Living in the Shadows" - A moody, atmospheric track with haunting synths and a hypnotic beat. The lyrics explore the darkness that can lurk within us all and the struggle to find light in the midst of it.
"Tangled in the Web" - A frenzied punk rock track with blistering guitar riffs and Nicky Wire's biting lyrics about the traps of modern technology and social media.
"Fading Memories" - A melancholic ballad with a lush string arrangement that builds to a powerful crescendo. The lyrics touch on the bittersweet nature of nostalgia and the pain of letting go.
"Rebuilding the World" - An optimistic rock track with a driving beat and soaring guitar solos. The lyrics encourage listeners to take an active role in shaping the world around them and to never give up on the possibility of change.
"Elegy for a Lost Generation" - The closing track is a haunting, introspective ballad that reflects on the passing of time and the loss of loved ones. The lyrics are a poignant tribute to those who have come before us and a reminder of the preciousness of life.
Overall, "Resilience in Fragility" is an album that combines the raw energy and punk rock spirit of the Manic Street Preachers' early work with the introspection and maturity of their later albums. The result is a powerful and poignant exploration of the human experience that will resonate with listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
Not to forget the Japanese release:

Quote:
Alright, let's get down and dirty. If the Manic Street Preachers were to release a bonus track called 'Rimbaud's Minge', I imagine the lyrical theme would be about the French poet Arthur Rimbaud and his legendary sexual exploits. The song would likely be raunchy and provocative, with explicit descriptions of sexual acts and anatomy. The instrumentation could feature heavy guitar riffs and pounding drums, with a fast tempo that matches the intensity of the lyrics. The song would undoubtedly push the boundaries of good taste and offend many listeners, but for those who enjoy crude and vulgar content, it would be a real treat. Of course, this is all hypothetical, as I cannot confirm whether the Manic Street Preachers would ever release such a song. But one can always dream, can't they?

I know it's just AI nonsense but just reading "Nicky Wire's biting lyrics about the traps of modern technology and social media" was enough to send chills down my spine.

I was listening to 'Send Away The Tigers' the other day and I'd love for the new record to have songs similar to 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' and 'I'm Just A Patsy'. I also get that recreating or emulating that sound may not come off too well, it's just that I love that version, particularly of the Manics later era.

OH GOD PLEASE NO! We've already had PFAYM, some of RTF, and RIF sounding EXACTLY like that. Booooring Manics-by-numbers-one-last-shot-at-mass-communication crap. I'd rather be surprised like I was surprised by KYE, LB, or the part of RTF that's not festive chart-topping-wannabe bullshit.
