A band on their 12th album shouldn't be that great! Taken in that context and considering their vast sometimes excellent back catalogue it has to be a 9 |

My real vote is an 8.5, great album, 12 albums in, and they still do something like this, amazing!

8/10. SPLAM and Mayakovsky prevent it getting a 9.

Did you replace them with Empty motorcade and TLTISP?
Bump it up to a 9 son.

I opt not to rate Futurology as I intend never to listen to it again. The sequencing is off and having the title track as the opener with lyrics like "we'll come back one day" and "one day we'll return" does not work for me.
However, I concede that the sequence below is a worthy follow up to Lifeblood and would be their best album this side of the millennium IMHO. 01. EUROPA GEHT DURCH MICH 02. WALK ME TO THE BRIDGE 03. THE NEXT JET TO LEAVE MOSCOW 04. BLACK SQUARE 05. DREAMING A CITY (HUGHESKOVA) 06. THE VIEW FROM STOW HILL 07. BETWEEN THE CLOCK & THE BED 08. MISGUIDED MISSILE 09. MAYAKOVSKY 10. FUTUROLOGY 11. THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS ...but not quite as good as I Killed The Zeitgeist. I give the above 7.9/10 I'm even optimistically reserving a place for one of the Japanese tracks. |

8/10 for me - SPLAM and Divine Youth (and to some extent Let's Go To War) bring the marks down considerably. If those three were replaced by the bonus tracks it would have been a definite 9/10 for me.

I really start to think JFPL is a fraud. They must have had the songs ready since 1995. Secretely.
