For the Radio 2 vote, I'm guessing Anthem For A Lost Cause. I hope they have the balls to release 30 Year War with a fucking heavy video. 6 Music will get on board, I'm sure.

It'll float in the single charts at 50/60something, hang about for a week and drop out - no cd, no video, just a brief reminder to those who are looking for them that they are still about. Manics will never have a top 20/30 single ever again, touring is where the money is at for them now, their albums will continue to chart high as well - on the plus side, if they realise this then they will stop trying to write a radio friendly unit shifter for every album. They can protest all they like but SMTW and Its Not War are BLATANT attempts at twisting the arms of the big cheese radio producers up and down the country.

50/60? This ain't 2010! It'll do well to make the top 200.

No video? They make videos for songs that aren't even singles, I think it'll have a video.

Kieran Evans has already confirmed he's filmed the video and said 'the story continues'

I really don't like the choice of singles the band makes these days. I know they're the obvious upbeat radio friendly songs but they're almost always the worst on the album.

SMTW was the first single I haven't bought since I started buying Manics singles on release (KYE era). The completest within me is quite angry, but my common sense seems to have prevailed. If I don't like it, don't buy it.

Unfortunately, the band don't make the choices ultimately. Regardless of the way the album is written or recorded, there will be a need to have a staple "single" selection. Anthem is one such single. I can't imagine there being a third.

don't they? I would think that after 20+ years in the industry they would have a say- at least a conversation about it. If they didn't i'm sure sony would have vetoed the decision not to have any singles with JFPL
