On second full playthrough of the album now on Spotify, slowly growing on me, the singles are the best for me, though. Don't Let The Night Divide Us is nice, enjoy the performance of that on the BBC Radio 2 concert yesterday

Nah, most big tape releases - and almost the entire underground cassette scene - still use plastic cases. Kind of staggered this is in an o-case, which gets bent to the shape of the tape itself, while the CD is still in a hideous jewel case.

Happy Bored Alone is closer to JFPL than SATT in demo form when it’s not all Eringa’d up. JDB’s affected vocal makes it sound like it could have gone on to become Die in the Summertime for 53 year olds. Someone also decided to cut out all the lyrics Nicky actually bothered to write for the middle eight. Don’t discourage him, JDB!

It’s still a weak track but instead of taking the demo and making it better they made it worse. All it needs now is a video with some random woman looking bored (but happily so) in the countryside and their work is done.
