Does anybody know what this song is all about? Somebody told me it was penned by John Niven? Is this true?

the lyrics certainly were written by Jonh Niven's along with a few other tracks i believe, lovely song though

pretty sure its another tribute by James to his mother...the lines '1980's christmas day, you were younger than i am today....' and 'my mind is full of all things i never said to you/promises i didn't think to make' make it a very touching and personal song.
