Johnny was the republican right winger. Joey wrote the song.

I've listened to PiL and nothing about it sounds groundbreaking to me. I don't even remember ever hearing them mentioned as influences on the bands/artists I know and love.

And we could debate who invented punk all day long and never agree. I do like them but crying about how the Sex Pistols spoiled it for them is pretty lame. |

Johnny was the Reagan/Republican supporter in the band. He even thanked George W Bush when the Ramones went into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Bonzo Goes to Bitburg is all Joey, Johnny allegedly never even played guitar on the recording.

Ha ha. I meant the time of PILs first three LPs, late '78/79 to '81.

I'm chuffed with this. Butter adverts or not, I think this man has his head screwed on. I loved his autobiography, he's a very intelligent man and the Manics should be happy he's given them the thumbs up (didn't slag them off, like James thought he would ).

John Lydon and The Sex Pistols are not really my cup of tea but I'm happy for the Manics. esp, for Nicky. he must feel in heaven

I wonder what the young Johnny Rotten would say to his older self if he could see him. And vice versa.
Rise is a helluva track, to be fair.
