Lakefest 13/08/2022
Lakefest! Last date left https://www.manicstreetpreachers.com...lakefest-2022/
Something to celebrate? Even without the cancelled gig the shows and support slots were enjoyed. Only Y Not seemed to fuck up. Are the band in a rehearsal room going "We are not gonna uhhh a 20 minute Jazz Raga in front of a festival crowd!". Will tomorrow see James announce the birth of a new mark of Manic Street Preachers? "This is called Studies In Paralysis! Nicky Wire wrote this! The bass player!". Have an amazing time. Couldn't find the thread. Lucky and envious whoever made it. Nice symmetry of eight songs before the acoustic break, eight after!
Although heavily focussed on the singles, I believe that's the first live performance of the Everlasting in three years and Found that Soul in five. |

Decent set list. And I saw a video of Sean with a big beard now haha, I was surprised and excited on seeing the different look. Little things.
Guess now they will focus on maybe writing new material for another album? Hope so.

More chance me being declared Pope than KYE gigs! But if it happens... I'm selling the Popemobile and will be doing sermons via Zoom.

It's probably a mixture of my hearing and YouTube camera quality. But watching the footage of the set from different channels.
Does anyone think the band were mixed too low in the vocals? James isn't as loud as on different nights footage. Can't make out Nicky's speech before It's Not War. Oh The Everlasting! I think the festival sound mixer was off. James Dean Bradfield is playing an acoustic and his voice sounds too quiet! Maybe the piece of paper with their mixing instructions blew away while walking to mixing desk and the Mixer decided to wing it? |
