Just listening to the Even in Exile demos again (free download for official store purchases). Amazed at JDB's ability to scrap a song, chords and melody, to rework the lyrics into a different song. Totally saved Boy From the Plantation and Santiago Sunrise, and before that with songs like Bag Lady and Your Love Alone.

The Boy from the Plantation is the best Manics / JDB song since Your Love Alone. Certainly the best chorus. But Even in Exile is a fantastic album. Interesting to hear Jimbo reflect n it in recent interviews. Seems he is going to do another solo album either before or after the next Manics album but wants to do a more commercial album. I wonder if he felt Even in Exile didn't get the attention he thought it would after the effort he put into it!
