The video looks like static on the TV when it rains, it's ok for a minute then needs to change. I think it's going to be on the screens when they tour, adding to the atmosphere, Reminds me of the Futurology videos.

The climb back begins! Where did singles from last albums chart? From nowhere to 53 shows a connection. I feel happy to be involved.
Naturally the Nicky sung one has to be the follow up single? (No idea thrashing clueless) The Complicated Illusions of the album for those winter months? Whole different story if physical CD singles were viable. And throughout all the changes, the Manics are still there. Well done lads. |

Sales charts:
Together Stronger - 63 International Blue - 70 People Give In - 85 La Tristesse (Remaster) - 38 Orwellian - 62 The Secret He Had Missed - 78 Decline & Fall - 53 Not bad, then. It's 51 in the Singles Download Charts, which is practically the same thing anyway other than the odd vinyl and even odder CD release. |

On the wiki for International Blue it's got Gold and #1 on vinyl single.
So they've got four number ones then! I saw on the charts it spent two weeks? Then remembered it was last Thursday. I think if there'd had been a physical we could be talking numbers. 53 is excellent. I didn't have the numbers to hand. Is it a single or a test probe from Manicsplanet into the chaos of Modern UK Chart Politics! |

Just watching back the set as forgot it live. Opening song Your Love Alone... the keyboard / synth whatever is WAY too high in the mix in the chorus, and you can hear Wayne singing wrong backing vocals too several times, or was it in fact James getting the words wrong? Haha Wow.
Edit, just watched it again, it is indeed James singing the wrong lines, watch for Nicky shaking his head haha. Edit 2: Didn't like the fact James didn't sing the line in Motorcycle saying little shit, or in Tsunami changing several words. Just don't play them if you're gonna do this.

Tried to give Decline and fall a last chance and watched the live version to see if something could be redeemed but no, it's just self indulgent bloat and what makes me sadder is seeing how far they've fallen and how uninspiring they have become live.
I know the majority won't agree but this is really how this makes me feel |

With the demise of Status Quo, the NAG (not as good) energy manifests around our Manic Street Preachers instead of the real enemy of athletic peak erosion through polluted culture.
Without hearing or knowing anything about the album. The next single is going to make so many eat their own shit about the Manics current material. Or make me eat my own shit by being even less than Decline and Fall. But are we keeping the ampersand or writing "And"? I've forgotten how it looks on iPlayer. DECLINE & FALL AT LEAST BETTER THAN "Show Me The Wonder"!!! Now I remember when THAT got released and how we managed! But that had Rewind The Film released as a video at the same time? Whatever, have fun. I'm on Manics Still Good Island. Next single is going to stun. Or finish of for good. I'm still happy with Manics decision to continue making Music whatever happens. Other opinions are available from others. Just posting in off chance they read to say "It's going to be OK!". |

There was a short interview with BBC on Sunday. Album still doesn't have a title (supposedly) and is currently being mastered. Release will be early next year.

I just watched the Radio2 set in the park on iplayer. Such a raw and true performance from the Manics, doing what they're great at and improvising to a crowd in the rain. James makes it look so easy and like he was having fun at times. There is no other lead vocal like him. I thought Decline & Fall sounded great too.

Nah, even if you don't like it, 'Show Me the Wonder' was at least different. Big fan of RtF, it absolutely feels like Futurology's little brother to me, same restless creativity. C'mon chaps, we need another one of them again.

Oh I agree! I'd just move SATT over to Krusty's bunch. Otherwise the analogy is perfect.
