Nice to see but a bit too 'cult of Richey' for me.Might just be how it is edited but it suggests he wrote This is Yesterday and makes no mention of Wire's contribution to the lyrics.

Nice article with Nicky and Patrick on BBC today (with a video piece as well) feels like it might be part of a bigger interview / radio/ TV piece ? :https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgl25kxgjy3o

Not sure when this was originally from but it popped up on my Twitter feed today - Mojo Ranks the Manics albums in order. A slightly surprising one comes in fourteenth!

Hard to disagree with actually, though I can't help think of Know Your Enemy as two albums now, and think Solidarity would be much higher if it was. I'd also rate TUVL much much higher than GT.

Happy to see TUVL slowly creeping up. This does mean I'm going to have to do my own rankings. But- oops! Stuff to do tonight. And tomorrow. And the day after. But yes. It's always good to read a list. Thing is, do I include KYE as it was or the DTTR and Solidarity as separate? Can I include all three?

Don't really disagree but I think Postcards should be last and TIMT should be higher.

EDIT: In fact had to come back to say that Postcards is by far - BY FAR! - their worst era. Especially for coming after JFPL, the lead single, the signed tat, James' sweaty red shirt, and Hazelton Avenue. Jesus.

Disagree with a lot of that list, but admire its honesty and genuine career-spanning appraisal. Futurology at 3, Lifeblood at 5 (!!!), I can get behind it not being "Richey era plus SATT and JFPL" which seems to be the common press line.
PFAYM being in the top 10, however, is laughable.

Resistance Is Futile I'd put above Send Away The Tigers. Rewind The Film would be in the top ten.
Yes, Postcards From A Young Man bottom. But The Ultra Vivid Lament (PFAYM improved and taken far further) would be far far higher.
The top slots could be a messy threesome of ...Bible, Journal... and Everything... being voyeuristically filmed by Futurology.
Sorry but Generation Terrorists also misses out on the top ten as well.

What is the the point of this article? It's literally just taking bits from a 10 year old interview with a different outfit. Not sure whether to happy or horrified that JDB is being fed into the SEO machine. The state of modern music writing is depressingly regurgitated.

I've just read the article after posting! I was reminded of that story maybe late 80's or early 90's in Viz. With a tearful Jimmy Nail telling reporters he would eat snakes.

Magazine substance! 14th October sees James tell Mojo all about the new album!
But the band name doesn't feature on the cover. I know how the feature looks.
So hello Album 15 thread top of the page from Monday evening probably.

NME quote Mojo article. What their previous NME story about the album (that they again took from a different magazine) before kindly reminding they'll be on Jools Holland soon.
We're the ones doing all the work here!
