Watched the set on the iPlayer earlier. Good set with a few surprises in there. The Anchoress really brings something when she appears with them, but thought the acoustic La Tristessa didn't really work.

A bit embarrassing to see Kieran Evans going off on one about the live TV editing which didn't show his videos and spent too much time on Wayne (I suspect there was an issue with some of the feeds as there never was a clear shot of Nicky).

S'bring out the DVD of it and cut to the videos now and again, Kieran?
The crowd clearly loved the visuals. I thought they were intriguing what I saw of them. Thank you.
About eighth rewatch of it. UEF looks so different to how I imagined! Audience mixing better and can hear them singing.
Was James's guitar change part of the act or another breakdown?
I've been to "open floors" where I've saw acoustic guitarists throw it across the room for less!

Dude on keys is Nick Naysmyth.

Weird to think that Wayne has been playing with the Manics more than twice as long as Richey was in the band. Grand backing guitarist but should be kept off backing vocals as he just brings you out of the song straight away. I just dread Roses or Slash N'Burn appearing in the setlist.

Just watching it again, such a quality set.

Criminal that they’re shoved in that time slot in the car park underneath a bunch of nobodies. Add 4 or 5 songs and they’re headlining.

I would have loved the Rose's Slash to have joined them he was about after all....
I loved their set more than GNR....and I am a GNR fan...I thought they mixed it up really well with the big hits but also revisiting Die in the Summertime and This is Yesterday....

I mean, we've gone from years of no holy bible songs to 3 in a gig. Something must be happening.

2024.

I loved it myself, i've seen it twice now and it is a great set with some caveats. I like the anchoress, i'm just not sure that version of this is yesterday worked very well, but the guitar sounded amazing. There was a moment where james skips around her for a bit and it's a joy to behold - speaking of, his energy was something else. Go james. The ending to tolerate? Hmmm... not sure, i thought they were dead against stuff like that, especially for a weighty song like tolerate. Kinda works though, right? I saw they did that same at isle of wight fest and it really gets the crowd a movin'.
