the rather bad news is that the Manics remain at number 2, Robert Plant is now at number 1 on their chart.
Still #1 in the midweeks today, so its all good.

Aye, I reckon it'll be #1 tomorrow aswell, it's Saturday that is the "big day" in terms of sales. I reckon this is where the album may slide down to #2 or even #3 ....Or maybe a load of people will buy the Manics album!!!

It would nice for it to be a number one album, they haven't had one of those in a while...

I think in the past with them being high in the charts mid-week and then slipping at the weekend, that's usually been when a (perhaps very) popular artist who appeals to a young audience overtakes them at the end, so I'm hoping Phil Collins doesn't have such fans who'll buy at the end of the week.

I'd go as far as saying that the Manics would outsell Collins on the Friday/Saturday fairly easy. It's only if an act like the Script or Maroon 5 jump up and get closer, which now looks unlikely.

You'd think so!

Is the gap narrowing/widening?

Narrowing apparently.... down to a few hundred copies and when all the grannies go for their weekly shop at Asda or Tesco on Saturday they'll no doubt pick up Phil's piece of shite and condemn the Manics to their traditional No2 spot.

do we actually want the Manics to think that the mass communication plan has been successful? who knows what cheesy musical crimes a number one in a soft week could inspire.

PFAYM is now down to £7.99 at play.com. Serious business.

You can also get the Richard novel for £6.99 there when bought with the album. Ha, what a promotion!
