I couldn't resist this... Went for the vinyl/cd/t shirt combo. I've wanted the vinyl for ages, I've all the other booklet versions they've done, and then that damn red t shirt is just sooo nice. Still have my 2004 black tour t shirt so the red it was. Lifeblood just has THE best artwork, and I'm intrigued to know if the inlay will smell as lovely as the original did 😂

It still has a trace of it's intoxicating aroma. And I can still see the jewel case. Falling from my fingers as I tried to get the booklet out for a quick fix. It seemed slow motion but I was just tall. And down it fell onto my sister's laminated floor. I don't even think the album had been announced in the charts as well.
Hopefully this booklet will prove more durable. I can see why bands are moving to cardboard sleeves these days.

Doubtful, I think Wire's mentioned it since and there'd be no point as most fans buying LB20 would know. Plus it's most likely down space on the CDs & replicating that with the streaming versions.

What everyone was saying about the smell.. one reason I've bought a bundle off the website. Ink & print smells good.

You just can't beat physical stuff! Hold it! Juggle it! Leave it on bed and couches then look at it through a window! Store it on a shelf! Smell it! The possibilities are endless!

Think I'll skip buying it, these reissues are becoming very lazy now. However I still dearly love the album so I'll be curious to hear the extras. If the demos aren't anything special, many of the b-sides are absolutely incredible. Glad to see The Soulmates and Antarctic there at least.

Ah, I've never read/heard them mention the Richey lyrics (or have forgotten!) - any idea where I might find it? Assume in promo for Journal?

They mentioned it in 2005. I presume as per the course of the time, Rich and Nicky swapped lyrics, working on and branching off each other's lyrics. I presume Nick found it while prepping the EMG re-release. When it came round to Journal's, I'm pretty sure with GSTM's status as a free giveaway, meant that they could use the whole Richey lyric without feeling like they were rewriting a pre-existing song.

Brilliant, thanks! I don't remember reading/hearing this interview. Nicky also said the EP was "nothing to do with Sony" so maybe that's one reason why it's not included.

Willing to bet that a simple majority of people buying the new Lifeblood have never heard of 'Picturesque', and the album needs to sell in excess of those who have to be profitable.

I think they have to balance the expense of being more adventurous with a reissue with the expected returns - yes it could include a DVD or similar, but at whose cost and ultimate benefit?

I bought it to say thank you to them bothering to put it together and as a vote of confidence in future releases (be they entirely new albums, reissues or other products). To me, the deliverable isn't the T-shirt or 2 colours of vinyl, but the demos and alternative mixes. The only way you'll get to hear stuff like that long-term is if it's made worth a band's while commercially, especially given the lot will be uploaded to Spotify and YouTube on day 1.

Apologies if already done and I've missed it earlier in the thread, but Youtube threw the album teaser video at me today. I'm guessing that's one of the new 1985 remixes being played, are the visuals new or recycled?

It wouldn't surprise me if the visuals were stuff played on the video screens of their live dates. That I didn't go to.
I'm enjoying the idea of the first two discs being a sort of double album. Definitely not read the new interviews that flash by in the third flashframe (is that what it's called?) video on the store site of the contents. Certainly haven't ever saw the legs covered in blood on one of the pages. A lot of rare pictures and stuff put together in one set.
The postage seems the biggest problem for some. But it does have enough value for money. All I have to do is stop screaming over twenty years gone.

Oh my god do I get to be the guy who posts the interview link first like some kind of manics-googling loon?

It’s 1985 – Steven Wilson’s Extended Eighties Mix.
How I know? I uploaded parts of the clip to my instagram with sound and I got a notice the post was blocked stating Sony’s rights bla bla bla, and naming that song/remix.
