I'm calling the torso 'Above Denise'.

Whew, what a brilliant gig. Thank you to Lindz for giving me her second ticket, I had a wonderful time, and managed to chat to Lindz & the front of the queue regulars, Rob and Frostystar (the latter a 'new' meet for me). I've got a sore foot so didn't want to risk the barrier, and went for a sit down for an hour or so before the gig with Tim and Jood, who is as lovely as ever.

At 46, stupidly overweight, after a fairly tiring journey, and already being in a bit of pain from the sore foot, I was fully prepared to calmly and sensibly watch the gig. Ah. I ended up pogoing. Not a lot, but I did. The rush is still there when the band come on stage, and the sheer joy of being a part of something wonderful makes everything else disappear. The new songs came across pretty well, with the exception of The Descent, which isn't really made for a live situation. Lots of people headed for the bar.

James was on absolutely top form, he was full of energy and was giving it 100%. He looked great, and Nicky looked pretty good too

I got my ticket signed by Nicky afterwards, but didn't quite catch James, who had already spent about twenty minutes talking to some lads. Sean had made a dash for it, I reckon. We didn't see him at all.

Afterwards we met up with Glasnost and P2 for a post gig analysis in a very nice pub that Jood led us to. That lass is invaluable for her North Eastern drinking establishment expertise.

All in all, it was bloody brilliant Roll on tomorrow night.

I thought the gig was fantastic another return to form, a few harsh pointers on here I guess the backing vocals were very high at times but to be fair thats not in his control thats down to their soundman and I would love to have heard older songs but I kind of thought it would be the way it was due to the gig being broadcasted on radio in a few weeks. But all in all it was bloody amazing. Great to meet James and Nicky briefly afterwards. The guys James was speaking to seemed to be very familiar to him.

Another pointer, i was very lucky enough to get tickets without having to buy them I thought it was really hrash that people were selling tickets on ebay and outside the venue.

Dex, did you and LS4E have your romantic pint of ale?

Or did you just sleep together?

Armless lady is Elizabeth, Body Builder is Alan.

Excellent gig, Newcastle wet, lack of cashpoints, LOVED Tsunami and Saxy on the trumpet , great to see Rob and Amy and rel and Tim and Dex and loads of others including a pair of Sams and Amanda (even though you stood on my foot while I was in bed this morning), James in excellent vocal spirit, Saxy LOVELY , Wire gorgeous as ever

Massive thanks to Siobhan for the tickets.

Pics later - not many, me and my camera had a domestic over batteries last night.

No, i had a (surprisingly well chilled for Wetherspoons) Pint of Adnams to myself.

They went of stage and round the back really quickly, you had to be Speedy Gonzales to get autographs etc...
