How many pages do you think we'll get to before release date? I'm guessing 41 pages.

That said, this quote definitely makes me feel a little excited for the demos. I much prefer when the demos show you how the song evolved (like the strange but wonderful Roses in the Hospital that came with the Gold Against the Soul reissue) rather than slightly less polished versions of the final song with a few slightly different lyrics. If we did a demo then we would go the opposite way and try and do it another way. If we wrote a song in a style, we'd say, Okay, we got the song but lets try and do it in a different style. Basically, we were switching off our autopilot and just trying to be a different version of ourselves. |

Really looking forward to the demos. They are, as far as I can tell, the last full-album demos we'll ever get to hear, short of new releases that seem to come with them by default.
The only other things left would be things like early gig bootlegs, the rock mix of Tsunami, and the Boys of Summer version of International Blue. Oh and a video of the O2 National Treasures gig. That must be waiting for a rainy day.

Video is glorious. I got really emotional watching it.
I notice also that Lifeblood is no longer on Apple Music. Which is strange. |

On a side note, whoa, has Sean grown long in the tooth or what? Something strange is going on indeed, I get the "video unavailable in your country" message whenever I try to watch something LB-related on Manics' youtube channel Last edited by Bartek Wyre; 14-02-2024 at 12:15. |

Wow, that video is brilliant. Love the way the almost lazy guitar strumming contrasts with the drumbeat. Almost better than the album version. Oh this reissue is gonna be sublime. I was excited for the KYE reissue but this...

Great live video there, enjoyed that a lot, but Jesus why's it soooo widescreen? It's horrid and loses so much picture... bizarre filming choice.

Imagine they upload a similar video for the IOW Empty Souls.

Yeah, they never figured out how to play Lifeblood tracks live. It doesn't work with James' role in the band live. That's also the main reason, I think, why they started viewing it as a dead end creatively. They should have turned into a knob-twiddling extravaganza live (like Radiohead) to follow that path live and that's just not the Manics.
