Sometimes I’m not disturbed by that, in this case not.
I don’t hate a brickwalled sound just for the sake of it.
Too me it’s just a modern way to engineer sound. Not fit for exactly all recordings. But I still find the TIMTTMY remaster good.

I get what you mean, cleaner music sounds better even with that sound than for example THB 20th, but I'm listening on headphones most of the time and any clipping is very audible. But if it's a new release, I just say "eh...f#&k it, there's no other way ". But in this case I'm satisfied with the original albums. I don't care much for various demo versions..I might listen to them once, that's all.

Oh and I hate those book deluxe versions..it's impossible to carefully pull those cd's out

I agree with pretty much everything you’re saying
I don’t quite hear these clippings.
Sometimes it’s maybe just a fresh listening experience more than anything. Some newness to things have be listened to 1000s of times. Which gives me something haha.

'Most' songs being remastered is, I assume, because the unreleased ones have never been mastered before.
That's interesting. I'm looking forward to the album remixed like that and hear songs they must have decided to leave off the album.

Thank you! I accidentally pressed a sponsored video a few days ago by mistake, so whenever I opened YouTube I got that "Somewhere over the rainbow" on a ukulele.
At least when I open it now it'll be more pleasurable.

I like that demo a lot. Especially how each line of the verses start with a SHOUT!

After a couple of listens, I've got to say I think I prefer the demo to the album version. There's a certain Rocket Queen-esqueness about the main riff that I'd never appreciated before.

I always loved the title track even tho it's also just dire in ways, great sounding demo, an unloved era amongst the band but hopefully some gems will be on it.

I really liked that, bit more gritty and raw than the album version, more to the drums too. Eager to hear all the demo versions now but still paying £45 or whatever it is for 2 discs in a book.

I was under the impression that Gold Against the Sold had never been performed live, but according to setlist.fm it had one live outing (although records of the GATS are a little patchy):

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/manic...-5bed9354.html

I was hoping this summer's live performance were going to have a few GATS rarities thrown in. With the seeming inevitability that they all got postponed till next year I hope they don't get forgotten!

I always found it odd how a song with the same name as the album was so forgettable...

“Journal for Plague Lovers” is a bit like that too
