I remember him doing it at Reading the same year.

But that's where my live experience started, so wouldn't know if it came any sooner.

Finally got round to watching No Manifesto...
I laughed out loud on the subway when Sean talks about how they played Sleepflower on a particular tour just to make "that prick that shouts for Sleepflower at every concert he goes to" shut up for the rest of his life.
Brilliant.

I watched No Manifesto again (BR edition) and absolutely loved it when Nicky slated the strings on Autumnsong and James was getting his arse in his hand about it. You should have listened to Nicky, mate.

Facebook link might not work but it reads "James Dean Bradfield 'Manics' signed Hudson acoustic guitar. 17 days left. Starting bid £250.
Signed Hudson acoustic guitar, a TGI guitar case and photo of the band. James took this as a writing guitar on the 2015 American The Holy Bible tour and has been used for writing new material in the last 12 months and is also signed by Nick and Sean."

Firstly, it's "Nicky"! and secondly, "writing new material in the last 12 months".
Aha! So they have been working while still claiming Musicians Nostalgia Allowance!
Well guess which singer/guitarist for a Welsh band is going to be waking up to a sanction?!

Am in one of those periods when, after having not really listened to any MSP for a few months or longer, you suddenly rediscover why they're you're favourite band and you can't get enough.

Strangely, this time around, it's all about Generation Terrorists and Lipstick Traces...

And second random Manics thought for the day...

I ran my first ever marathon yesterday - the Yokohama marathon. And of course, on my playlist I had to have some Manics.

As a marathon opener, the whole of Journal For Plague Lovers is an excellent pace-setter and motivational listen!!

(Following that I had Rancid's "And Out Come The Wolves," The Clash's "London Calling" , a DJ's mates mix of Soca tunes, and an audio track of a Greg Davies stand up show. Then my iPod died.)

Congratulations on your first marathon.

I agree JFPL is a great motivator. Same with the remix album.

There's some scope for a thread on what Manic tracks go best with what. For example, I just had Indian Summer on there now and it and (especially) Automatik Teknicolour will always be early summer evening tracks for me.

Yeah, some certainly suit particular events, moods, seasons and whatnot.

My only regret about the marathon was not going for Generation Terrorists and timing it so Motorcycle Emptiness played as a I ran past the 'cosmo clock' Ferris wheel!

Eheheh...
I see.
Well, congratulations! I wouldn't have the patience nor the breath to run a marathon...
