"Eat my spinach... for the fifteenth time... I've eaten it for much too long... This 'ere pasta's mine."

Don't think I've ever seen James wearing glasses on TV.

Listening to the audio from the King Tuts gig in 2010. The only Manics show I really wish I'd seen but didn't. Really special. Anyone who went, you have my envy.

I like that the King Tut's gig was a general sale situation, rather than one of the 'complete lottery' competition gigs that seem to have the same winners each time. Good on the guys for still doing the smaller gigs, could be too easy to not bother.

The epic battle on the beach in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story reminded me of the So Why So Sad video.

Happy New Year, everybody.

Hit shuffle on the music on my phone and the first song to come on in 2017 was...

...Futurology [R. Seiliog Remix]

Quite pleased with that.

I wonder if Manics tastes change over time... I've found in recent months, I've developed a love for Futurology, having hated it with a passion since its release. I think it's fantastic, and so many interesting tracks on it.

Plus, since having started to play the drums, I'm seeing other songs in a new way. For instance, Roses in the Hospital - that whole long Forever Delayed outro in it - it's just magnificent. I always liked the song anyway, but now I love it even more. The Gold Against the Soul singles are really great tunes, when it comes down to it.

Are there any other instances of the band quoting themselves or referring to their own songs, besides Forever Delayed/Roses in the Hospital?

And Show Me The Wonder/Found That Soul (almost)

Also - what is the meaning of the term "Forever Delayed" - what's it all about?
Besides the effect of certain anti-depressants on ejaculation...

To me, forever delayed means those things like, you know, when you make up your mind about, say, exercise, but delay it for tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, and forever.

You Stole the Sun From My Heart in Your Love Alone

Guess Picturesque and All is Vanity / Door Slowly Closing is pushing it a bit.

We Manics fans don't know how lucky we are!
Bob Dylan is bringing out yet another cover version album of great American songs and songwriters.
I'd happily take Postcards From A Young Man year after year than what Dylan's doing!
