I have been there and i can say without any reservation, hearing the Manics play live is infinitely more important to me then what my fellow gig goers are doing.

As for the band's "disappointment", they're 40+ year old professionals with a wealth of experience who aren't likely to be put off their game because people are just standing there taking in the music rather than dancing about. I think a lot of you gravely underestimate the age of the majority of Manics fans. Many of them have already passed the days of freaking out over a band and would rather stand in the back with a drink and chill out listening to their music. Doesn't make them any less interested in the gig then those of you who go wild. It's a preference thing.

Just sat through the Friendly Fires and they are on repeat! But I reckon the crowd knackered themselves out after their performance!

I can totally see Nicky weeping in the toilet... ''C'mon, Nicky boy, go out of that toilet...I'm sure I've spot at least one girl wearing a feathers boa!''
*Nicky gets out of the toilet*

That has made me feel loads better Shannon! And there were a few kids bouncing about from the bit of footage I have been able to see!

Btw, I've been a fan of the band since I was 15 and I'm now nearing my mid-30's. If that doesn't make me a "real fan", I can't conceive of what else would. That's a lot of years invested to be only a fly by night, casual fan.

They're on BBC Three when it should be Coldplay. Amazing scenes.

I'm sorry if it sounded offensive, i didn't mean to be mean to you or anybody. It was a ''generic'' you, not you-Shannon (you're Shannon, right?)

Got to see YLAINE, Faster and Design at last! Really enjoyed it and don't think you could say the band weren't giving it their all. The audience livened up a bit towards the end anyways!

Oh, don't worry, hun. Nothing you wrote was in any way offensive (and I certainly hope you didn't take offense to anything I wrote in response to you either)...it's your opinion and I respect it even if we don't share the same view. How boring would this forum be if we didn't have different points of view? Wouldn't make for much of a discussion, would it?

Yep, I'm Shannon. Feel free to use my real name on here if you like. What's your name, if you don't mind me asking?

To be honest, they soooo didn't deserve a verse. Only good audiences get a verse.

Mother was confused by the Richard Burton recording!

(And thankfully didn't notice the 'GET F*****!' in Design!)
