On The One Show just now they were showing football fans in Cardiff for the Champions League final around the city. They played instrumental versions of Show Me The Wonder, Cardiff Afterlife and This Is The Day.

Heard Tolerate (yet again) in a shop the other day.
With no statistical basis whatsoever I would venture that 99 per cent of all Manics songs I have heard played in shops are Tolerate.

And ... if we don't start objecting about that statistic, all our respective offspring will find the same thing will happen for them.

Kevin Carter was part of Radcliffe and Maconie Teatime Theme Time.
The answer was ZX Spectrum games. Because Kevin Carter equals Manic Miner. That had me going what?!! Was the Miner called Kevin or Carter? Oh! Saw it typed up. MANIC Miner. Ahh! Get it now! |

On the plus side, a couple of decent remixes will be made of it.

Not actually the manics, but as if Part 8 of Twin Peaks Season 3 wasn't fantastic and bonkers enough, one scene featured Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima, as sampled on the beginning of the Heavenly version of You Love Us. My brain's audial muscle memory half-expected the drums and guitar to kick in... !

Everything Must Go has been played on Radio X a lot recently.
Also, not sure if somehow has posted this already. But a few weeks back, there were two Manics questions on Ken Bruce's pop master. Guy got both them wrong. One was name the band who's members are JDB, Nicky etc... He said Stereophonics. And the other was which album is Tolerate from and he said Design for Life. Two good wrong answers I guess lol

They played A Design For Life on Frank Skinner's radio programme a few minutes ago.
Edit: Also; a few minutes ago, Frank Skinner was talking about how when he used to have a talk show, he would sometimes choose which song was played when a guest came on. He said that the song he chose for Aled Jones was If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next. Last edited by Strawberry; 02-09-2017 at 09:29. |
