It is not the first time ; I can't remember if the songs were from RTF or Futurology, RTF I think, but during the last season with Clarkson there were two Manics songs played.

I'm listening to Frank Skinner's radio programme and they played You Stole The Sun From My Heart an hour ago.

So the new single has been A-listed by Radio 2 (it's their "Record of the Week" or whatever) so obviously it's been getting a load of airplays.
Heard it on Steve Wright about 4:25 this afternoon... liked it more than when I first heard it. Weird.

Has anyone ever heard Ghost Of Christmas played on the radio at Christmas anywhere?
Pondered this when I actually had the radio on over Christmas and it was a playlist of the ten same Christmas songs over and over.

Manics gig in Cuba mentioned in this article of the '6 most controversial gigs'. Also links to a radio piece on Elian Gonzalez.

Heard Design For Life on the radio here the other day - it was a station playing classic and new indie. Which was nice.

International Blue on Chris Moyles's show on Radio X
Followed up with "that's Manic Street Preachers with 'International Blue' - which is also the name of a subscription I bought Dom for Christmas. There's a DVD every 2 weeks and a magazine every month"

Manics are currently on 6Music standing in for Iggy Pop.
In my current state every bit of music sounds like it's underwater, but you might have clearer understanding! |

I think they just made me into a Wolf Alice fan, so that's something.

Did they get the memo that nicky doesn't like any of that modern rubbish anymore and furthermore, those kids should get off his lawn?

Other than the song choices, the only thing of note is that they sent out a public offer to Kate Pierson to do a duet.
This would have been a good idea 20 years ago. |
