On my first listen to Resistance Is Futile of the year. Still much prefer the second half, and it's the In Praise Of Nicky's Vocals thread that's prompting us here, but Left Behind is probably the biggest grower on the album for me. Got the Japanese version on, if I've heard Holding Patterns or Mirror Gaze I've forgotten them...

Urgh, I've had half a comment in front of me for about half an hour. Eh, I love this band, here's to the next chapter whatever it is. Hope I enjoy it more than the last..

Nice!

I do love mine in all seriousness, but I’m still not entirely sure what percentages of the sale were down to ‘the’ JDB advert, my own photoshopping of that ad, and the actual merits of the amp

I seek forgiveness from you all this evening for hearing Stay Beautiful on my playlist and thinking it was YLAINE.

So someone is steering this ship? There i was thinking there was no captain at the tiller... though it's depressing that the most activity at the moment is revolving around that vile book.

Random thought: the tender and you're tired studio demo on the truth 20th is superb.

Inner eye opening to the stepped scarlet pyramid of the Eastern Seaboard Fission Authority burning beyond the green cubes of Mitsubishi Bank of America,
and high and very far away he saw the spiral arms of military systems, forever beyond his reach.
And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face.

Weird moment last night at my writing group. Our 'homework' was 500 words about 'The Man From Wales' (I refrained ...) but one of the new members wrote a short essay about Owain Glyndŵr and mentioned that in 2007 he was mentioned in '1404', a song by The Manic Street Preachers.

Gotta be the most random Manics reference yet.

Did you opt for Tom Jones instead

RSD has crept up on us, forgot about it. Surprised there isn't owt by Manics this year, was half expecting a 12" of Tolerate to follow suit with the Design For Life and Your Love Alone ones from 2016 and 2017. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the Manics RSD release, just wonder what next. As much as I love it I never expected owt to mark Journal's 10th anniversary. If we're lucky we might get Peeled Apples or Jackie Collins on tour maybe? I dunno..

Now when astrophysicists released radio image of black hole in M87 this excerpt from Be Natural strikes me even harder:

Quote:
Grown up
Or backwards born
Into eternity
And black holes
Floating around
Up here on my own
Screaming at me
Forever unknown
I know it's metaphorical but it sounds so astrophysical and it's really awesome.

Glad that they added it later. Demo version is boring without this passage.
