Listening to Radio 2, the new Pretenders song sounds very recent-era Manicsy

They didn’t like Sleaford Mods at that Awards Ceremony gig a few years ago 😂

Really? I was at that one too and don’t recall any particular antipathy towards them. I checked my diary to see if I’d noted anything down but I just wrote that they were ‘surprisingly great’. Maybe the reaction was different in other parts of the crowd though!

Ah! Idiot! Why I know... Watching "MONSTERS OF ROCK 1990-1999" on Now 90's. 1992 had been on and is so far very American centric. Brian May's "Driven By You" aside.
Thank fuck Meatloaf's anything has finished but ahhh Lenny Kravitz. Currently in "1993".
Have you saw this show before? Do the Manics suddenly appear in 1996? Or do they get skipped altogether?

EDIT: COUNTING FUCKING CROWS?!!!

Oh monsters of Rock! Have The Almighty appeared? God I loved them. Counting Crows...I was going to get defensive then remembered I was thinking of the Black Crowes... They were grand too...can't remember if the maniacs did appear actually...think gold against the soul made them fall out of favour with the rock fans I'm on the wine though...medicinal for the lockdown ..so memory is hazy

Nice idea!

James = Quantum Brad(field) theory
Nicky = String (Wire) theory
Sean = Moore's law

Hah, of course Moore’s Law, which states a pile of gadgets purchased shall double once every 18 months...

Yeah there was a lot of people near us who started booing and moaning about them 'not playing real instruments'... not to the extend of bottling them though. My ex at the time was a big SM fan so was really annoyed

Ah that's crap. I found them really entertaining. You'd think that Manics fans would appreciate their lyrical themes and their punk spirit!

Random Manics thought that popped in my head just now: I would really love it if the band put out a surprise release during lockdown. Obviously they can't record together, but they must have something in their vaults that could cheer us up while we wait for the December gigs (and their probable postponement...)

Just throwing that out there on the off chance any of the Manics lurk here
