At least 1985 was on the actual album. They've more like Prologue To History'd it.

Agree with everyone here. Why this didn't make the album I have no idea.

Should have been a standalone single if they didn't think it fitted the album. Could definitely imagine this getting plenty of airplay on 6, maybe even radio 1!

That backwards-looking chorus is hardly befitting of 'Futurology'.

Although the film is once again rewound in the lyrics of some of the tracks that did make the cut. They can't help themselves.

Don't you have to look to the past to understand the future?
Seem like someone else can't help themselves

This song is full of good ol' manicisms. Absolutely impressive track. Very simple yet beautiful

Better than 1985? Perhaps indeed. One of the three or four utter triumphs of Futurology. Fuck not having it on the album. In the version of reality I exist in, it is the penultimate track, before Paris.

That's a very good song and I can't believe they didn't put it on the album. What a pity!

Can I just say how great I think this song is? Really should have been on the standard version of the album. I especially like the lyrics but the music is good too.

I love this song deeply. It has ousted TVFSH on my personal track listing.

Better than 3-4 of the tracks on the album, but then at least it means there's a worthwhile extra track that isn't just filler written to order

Really like this song and if anything, it is probably the one that best nails the whole 80's sound.

I've just completed Nicky's new Empty Motorcade lyric writing course. I found it invaluable and would recommend it to all.

We were clueless
And yet we were told

We were warm
And yet we were cold

We were timid
And yet were bold

We were shapeless
And yet we were mould

We were employed
And yet we were doled

We were unrollable
And yet we were rolled

We were not out
And yet we were bowled

We were WUMs
And yet we were trolled
