I was planning on buying the Delays first album but didn't until i heard they were supporting the Manics.

Bands i've gotten into from the Manics:
- The Clash
- Momus
- McCarthy
- Jacques Brel
- Johnny Boy
- Thirteen:13

Rather indirectly, but a random bloke on another forum recommended Doves to me after I had revealed my Manics fanboyness in some topic. That was the start of that love affair.

And then there's Delays which I probably would have never heard of if they weren't a supporting band for MSP and if FD hadn't gone insanely crazy about them at that time.

The band themselves haven't really got me into anything.

Yeah, same here. I'd probably have never discovered Delays had it not been for that tour.

Seems a popular answer, but Delays for me too!! Big big fan also.

I also got the Departure's album which was ok after seeing them support at Glasgow in 2005. I bought Razorlight pre Glasgow Dec04 to see what they sounded like, but that gig was cancelled and we got Departure in Jan 05 rescheduled gig instead.

Me neither I don't think I've ever gone on to like a support band quite as much as I like Delays.

It is more frequent that I discover some group and then I found out that the group has some connestion with Manics. (e.g. Catatonia)
But manics led me to Joy Division :-)

How fucking great were they? I loved them before I got into the Manics, and I still play Mike Monroes Not fakin it to this day, it is one of my fave ever albums! He was great live too, saw him at Nottingham around 89-90 time.

Back on topic, the most recent for me was The Killers after seeing NIcky rave about them on Orange Playlist. Went out the next day and got Hot fuss which has also become a firm favourite.
