I paid full-whack knowing this was a distinct possibility. I don't regret it.

A lot of people have still not realised the cassette is actually a magical item made from unicorn tears, elfen whispers and the whimsy of gnomes (um, and a bit of plastic). When the magic words are spoken ('eerged scitilop a evah I') and the tape is played at 88mph it emits a barely audible sound that grants the nearest listener with incredible special powers, such as hearing Nicky's voice as he himself hears it in his own head and the temporary ability of alchemy, enabling you to turn, for example, any large cardboard box into pure gold.*

Also, the DVD tastes of chocolate.**

*may be not actually entirely completely partially in any way not not true at all much.
**Do not eat DVD. Taste of chocolate determined in a controlled laboratory environment***

***See '*' but still don't eat the DVD.

Does anyone actually know for sure how many of these things exist? Those darlings over at EIL want £129.99 for it, and they insist that it's strictly limited to 1000 copies. I'm sure I saw someone say they had one numbered higher than 1000? I've got 993, anyway.

Mind you, they also reckon there are 2000 LPs and 5000 double cds. I think they're having us on, bitches.

I really shouldn't want one of these, I'd only want it for the scrapbook which I'd look at exactly once, but for £30 I'd be tempted.

I wouldn't have paid £100 quid for the shoebox even if the scrapbook had been hand-made by Nicky himself, it contained a personal message from the band on VHS, came with one of those matchstick galleons built by Richey, or whatever, but I thought it was alright value for collectors based on it being a rarity. The fact that there's thousands of them makes it worth, to me anyway, the value of an album + demos and a short bonus DVD - about £15. When they're £15 I'll think about it.

Seconded.

The mockery of it has made me laugh for months, I would say to everyone who paid the original price "you poor fools!" but given EIL and such said it was limited to a thousand it's not people being silly, it's a website/record label lying through their teeth, the bastards.

Did she say she'd get you it when it was £80? She can get you the box and the LP now

No, it's a big shoe box - the scrapbook is A4 size.

I really like the DVD. It's not very produced (especially considering many paid their £100's just for the DVD) but the content is really interesting.

I've watched it once - don't think I'll be watching it again anytime soon.

That's not too bad then. The words 'overpriced turd on a string' still spring to mind though.
