It's a nice coat but such a naff advert. And the quote is a bit Alan Partridge. And why so sad James? You are getting free amps so there's no need to look so pained!

I'd say there probably was. He was in a Fender ad about 12years ago and had a sort of cheeky looking grin on his face!


I'd say James got a few free pedals as well as that Journal for Plague Lovers video Nicky shot that went up on the website shows a pan of James' pedals and he's got about 4 or 5 very nice Blackstar pedals.

James looks good obviously, but what a crap quote to use in an advert! It looks like something a child has done as part of a school project.

I saw something about an advert on the guitarist twitter site the same time as the note james sent em along with the bottle of whisky!!

James looking happy in a photo is a rare thing! Oh and Guitarist also said that James is the best British Rock Guitarist of his generation! Woo! And Journal was best guitar album of the year! (wasn't numbered but was mentioned first so hey!) Double woo!

Haha, what a fucking strange advert! James looks hilariously despondent and the quote is perhaps the least inspiring thing you could have said about the amp! The whole thing just looks like James giving a half-arsed eulogy - "I loved this amp!"

The oddest thing about it is that at some point someone paid a lot of money in an ad agency must have looked at this photo of James, looked at that quote and thought, 'My God, this is what we're going for!"
