There only a Manics song which makes me cry almost every time I listen to it. And there is only a line which hurts me, but it's not just because of that line. It's because of the build-up that led to that line, and all the music that led to that line, and that line itself has been repeated many times throughout the song, but that final time...it kills me every time.

So rewind the film again
I'd to see my joy, my friend
Yes, rewind the film again
So I can fall asleep content

Ok, these words are sung many times during the verse by Richard Hawley, but when James sings them at the end of the song, it's as all the sadness of the universe gathers in that very moment.
The only time I've heard this song live (Bataclan, Paris, 2014) I cried during this moment, as I usually do when I listen to it. It's the perfect representation of the awareness of dying, I think.

I always thought it was (without ever looking it up):

Weighed down of course I cry.

And the Bethlehem radio is crystal clear and beautiful -- we're all alone here.

Isn't it? It's like how could that have not appeared on Lifeblood or even lead single!

Not a lyric as such, but "I will bring the whole edifice down in their unworthy heads" bit in RFD sends a shiver down my spine every time.

So walk that lonesome road
No joy or earthly rapture
Nothing to take the load

+ most of My Drowning World lyrics.

Same here!

Come to think of it, we could probably name dozens and dozens of such lyrics in their songs, moments that resonate with us. We're all Manics fans after all.
