Mentioned it elsewhere on here but I suppose it applies: given the amount of tracks they throw away and never touch, and the fact that most people (myself included these days) can't be arsed with collecting everything, I wish they'd release EPs or mini albums. Godflesh and Alice in Chains have some great EPs between albums that have stood the test of time.

Yeah, between the b-sides and would be b-sides there could've been some great EPs out there.
I wonder what if any they've got as far as Journal out-takes go. I mean, once they'd stopped sticking remixes on the second cds so much, Lifeblood, Send Away The Tigers and Postcards From A Young Man are all pretty much 25 song eras and it'd be a shame if Journal was only the 15. Alright, Holy Bible was only 16 at the time, 17 now, but that was on the back of two albums in two years rather than a year off. I hope we do hear more from the Journal era or at least in the Journal vein, eh wouldn't be the first time they've been sat on songs for years. Oh yeah we were on about EPs. I suppose it represents better value for money to stick Blistered Mirrors, Empty Motorcade and The Last Time I Saw Paris on the deluxe. I don't know if other bands still do it but it's like they're still writing b-sides without releasing the singles now. I mean the other week Nicky was talking about Anti-Social Manifesto, even I don't own that song yet, can only get it on the Japanese Futurology.

Guess at the time of writing, they'll just be some songs, don't know how early on they have an indication of what makes the album, b-side/bonus track, cutting room floor etc. I'd love for them to start releasing 5 or 6 track EPs like Jar of Flies or something.

I have quite a few promos, I like(/liked) the ones that have tracks that haven't been released on CD / lossless the best (an increasingly small number…). Although I love having the EMG-era ones too.

Ah, I see. Yeah, it's a shame when there isn't a physical release of tracks in the UK but there is elsewhere... it feels wrong somehow. I am a lot less bothered if lossless tracks are going to be available online from now on, but it's still a shame.

I just don't like the idea of buying downloads, as a collector you're just buying invisible shit. Still started 10 years ago with Antarctic and The Soulmates
