It's not. I have a clip of the backing vocals done in the demo and it's Sean. Sean actually has done quite a bit of backing vocals in the past, especially around the Lifeblood era.

How do you know what Richey's vocals sounded like? I've only ever heard him sing backing vocals (I wouldn't call it singing so much as shouting) quite pronounced on a live version of Motown Junk from '91 and the vocals on the demo sound nothing like his voice.

If you're so convinced it's Richey doing backing vocals, where's your proof to confirm this?

Logic dictates it isn't Richey, but if you feel so strongly that it is, well I guess that's your choice, however, if you're going to present your beliefs as fact, you'd better come up with evidence to support why you believe it to be him otherwise it's just a personal opinion based on nothing except a voice other than JDB during the chorus.

I think Richey would sing the melody on the recorder and transfer it to someone. The group then used this to record backing vocals.

Listen, I think James put his singing on the record with the voice of Richey. That's all
I see that you do not convince me .... well, so be it
