Great stuff!
My expectations for the album have been steadily increasing. (INW) JTEOL and the Hammersmith songs (except "Some Kind of Nothingness") didn't leave me with a very good impression at first, but they've grown on me. And all the other bits and pieces we've heard recently have gotten me pretty excited! |

AUTO INTOXICATION
The more I want to be me The less I know myself The living left to die While ghosts are brought to life Welcome to the new slave trade Drained of illusion and buried in debt How the hell do we find each other Suffering auto intoxication A disaster isn't coming; its already arrived I am so lucky, I think that I survived I am what I am, my body belongs to me My work will set me free and fullfill my dreams A new economy embraces the ruins It makes us strong and soothes our fears Welcome to the new slave trade Drained of illusion and buried in debt How the hell do we find each other Suffering auto intoxication A disaster isn't coming; its already arrived I am so lucky, I think that I survived

I'm failing to hear the piano that John Cale supposedly added to the song? Unless it's the organ that's bubbling away in the background?

Quote:
From the official site: ‘Auto-Intoxication’ A medical condition whereby the body’s organs poison their own system and whose sufferers include Yukio Mishima (and to lesser extent Nicky Wire). Here though, it becomes a metaphor for a toxic, self-defeating social system. Perhaps the spikiest, artiest thing on the album, with a strange sonic architecture and a contribution from John Cale. It still ripples with muscle.

The piano is in time with the guitar during the verse...almost sounds like a dobro guitar but it is definitely piano
