I've also got such great memories of first hearing Too Cold Here at my cousin's house when I first got into the Manics, and being completely blown away by it, that it wins my vote.

Even if Small Black Flowers and Facing Page are arguably better. But Too Cold Here has whistling! And a great acoustic riff.

I voted for 'Small Black Flowers' but 'Too Cold Here' is amazing as well. I can't believe the band left it off 'Lipstick Traces' when it was at the top of the fan's poll of tracks to be included!

"Small black flowers that grow in the sky". Hauntingly beautiful. I mean, the title alone is totally amazing.

They're all beautiful. Why did you make me have to choose?

'Too Cold Here' has always been one of my very very favorite songs, as depressing as the lyrics are, I've always felt they're about perfect (as far as THB era lyrics go, content wise, which, of course, isn't exactly "shiny happy people holding hands" type stuff). Richey talked about wanting to write the perfect 15 lines - the lines that would sum up everything he felt. I've always felt 'Too Cold Here' actually did exactly epitomize everything he (seemed to) feel at that time. But that's just me, and I'm not Richey, so who am I to say? At any rate, that song is fantastic, IMO, that's all.

I'd go for Small Black Flowers, but I like Facing Page: Top Left as well

I love you a bit for saying that.

Just thought today about what a great song that is. But the Journal For Plague Lovers edit rivals for 'perfect song', for me.
