Thanks, but surely there's more to it than that? I'm thinking of the last bit, maybe that's not backing vocals (though it is quite soar-away).

I'll have to have a listen - always a joy.

It sounds like 'PCP, make me go home' to me! (One for the misheard lyrics thread!)

I hear the first part as "gave me", so, past tense. The rest is quite confusing, but I remember a long long time ago on a different Manics forum someone posted the same question and somebody else guessed it was "gave me no hope", which was accepted by a few other forum members.

I always thought it was PCP kill me, which made more sense to me in the context.

never even thought about this before

but now I am, what I find really interesting is what nicky said before when talking about richey...

Nicky said something to the effect that little things could annoy/upset richey such as a "misprint on a lyric sheet". Bearing that in mind with another quote from nicky, where nicky said he never felt the need to be 'understood' but richey did (talking about interviews/quotes/lyrics etc) Im surprised the lyrics are not noted in the booklet

No wonder things ended the way they did. That apostrophe on THB's sleeve must have been the final straw for him.

Whilst we're on the subject, what are the backing vocals on ifwhiteamerica on the cool, groovy bits?

Don't mention the apostrophe! All the pedants will come out of the woodwork and crash the server!
